Job Description
Dr. Stany Pinto is a postgraduate in social anthropology from Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad. He did his doctorate in sociology from the South Gujarat Veer Narmad University, Surat in 1999. Since then, he has engaged himself in participatory developmental interventions among the tribals of Gujarat. He is a training expert in developmental issues concerning tribals. At present, he is the executive director of St. Xavier’s Social Service Society, Ahmedabad and is accompanying the poor and vulnerable sections of Society in urban Ahmedabad through the four inter-related dimensions of education, health, organisation and environment. He has worked at the grassroots in various regions of Gujarat: Sabarkatha and Aravalli in the north; districts of Narmada, the Dangs, Tapi, Surat, and Valsad in the south; Ahmedabad in the centre; and the Saurashtra region.
